By now, I can't imagine that many of you don't know what yoga is, but for those few that live under rocks or are new to the exercise community, it's the ancient art of stretching. Well, that's probably not true, but all you need to know is that it is awesome. I attribute the regular practice of Yoga to feeling good while working out and being able to push myself farther then I ever thought. You might think that it's not for you or you just don't have time to do it. Well, once again, good job with the excuses. Yoga is for everyone. Unless a doctor tells you otherwise. All you need is 30 mins and a little patience. Some days I even do it with my oldest kids, of course it's not as relaxing, but it still does the job.
My hubby and I are fans of a free series on FitTV called Namaste Yoga. It is a great 30 min workout that consists of a five minute warm up, twenty minutes of the main workout, then five more minutes of a cool down. It is on really early in the am, so we record it and keep it as long as we want. Just give it a try. If nothing else you will have tried something new. Once you get hooked on this ancient art of stretching :), branch out, find a yoga class in your area and go. Meet new people, get healthy, what's better then that. Until next time.

Say no to muffin top
Ladies, I'd like to talk about clothes. I know as females we are genetically predisposed to love clothing. But sometimes the clothing we wear does not love us back. I'm here to be honest with you and let you know that it is okay to get rid of the clothing that does not fit you any more. If you still honestly fit into your college jeans after two kids, then great. But for the majority of ladies out there, this is not the case. I have found, after four kids, that my body has changed in more ways then my college jeans can handle, and their is nothing wrong with that. The first step to changing is excepting that your body changes with age. You can workout and loose weight, but your old clothes still may not fit. Again, their is nothing wrong with this. Throughout your weight loss journey you need to purchase clothing that fits your present body and makes you feel good. Spend the money, it will help with your motivation. You will feel good and want to keep going. Nobody thinks you look good with your ass crack and muffin top hanging out. But if you had a top and bottom that complimented your current weight, you will feel better about yourself and others will think you look good. Have some confidence in yourself.
Seriously, no one you know is going to tell you that you look bad, even though they should. So I'm here to tell you. Don't sweat it, just make a small change in how you dress, until the bigger change you have made starts taking hold and you begin to see the weight loss reward.
I have never worn a size 2 or 4, or any multiple of those numbers for that matter. I like to look nice in the clothing I wear, even if a double digit size is on the tag. The size is just a reference number for you to know what to try on, it has no value to your self worth. So throw away the old skinny jeans that cut off your circulation and get something that looks good and better yet, makes you feel great.
