I think I might be the worst blogger ever. Unless the requirement for a new blog is every other week...or two. :) At least I haven't been as sporadic on my workouts. Or maybe I have. This last week I have successfully worked out every other day.
I began last week with our Marine Corps Ball, and with the help of some very strong Spanks and a one very encouraging husband, fit into my ball gown and felt great. Goal one accomplished. I really hadn't had the time to work out as much as I should have in order to fit into my ball gown, but it did have an empire waste and I knew I was going to wear Spanks, so I blame my laziness on these two facts. I have no real excuse this time, so I really tried to do all I could this week with out draining myself of enough energy to still function with 4 kids.
Monday and Wednesday I lifted weights for 30 mins with a warm up and cool down. On Friday I did 30 mins on the elliptical, which I purchased on line second hand for under $80. It now resides in my garage and is pulled into the living room in front of the TV by my hubby when necessary.
I also gained another invaluable tool when trying to get motivated; a workout partner. Kind of. My neighbor across the street was very interested in my workout schedule and worked out simultaneously in her garage, and we joined forces to run our 400 meter intervals together down the street. Bitching to each other for 2mins really does help pull you through the workout. I can't stress enough how helpful it is for you to workout with some one just as motivated as you. But beware of the social friends who just want to workout with you to chit chat. Unfortunately they may not encourage and push you like you need. So choose wisely.
I've also been very aware of what I have been eating and not eating, really trying to eat only what is good for me and at designated times. Breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, snack; and drinking a lot of water.
Moving forward this week I'm hoping to lift weights on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and run or elliptical on Tuesday and Thursday. I feel like if I at least do something everyday I can get a better grip on my fitness.
Hopefully with a holiday week I will have another chance to blog this week. Good luck with your workouts.

White girls can dance without cocktails in their system
Push up count 150
Mile count 5
Zumba class check
I am slacking a bit on my pushup and millage count, but this week I
discovered the wonderful world of Zumba class at my local Pilates
studio.
This class is awesome, a nonstop salsa, reggae, hip hop, pelvic thrust
lesson. Typically I take your normal spin class or kick boxing. I have
never been a yogi due to my inability to sit still for 5 seconds.
Zumba is perfect for moms bc you get to work out, get our of the house
for an hour and dance like a fool without the hang over. Another bonus
is that it helps you get your groove back and put a little reggae vibe
in your step. The husbands like that.
The next morning Gavin and I turned on our morning soundtrack and I
taught him some of my new moves and since he is 11 weeks old, he
doesn’t judge!
Check out your local gyms or yoga studios for class times. It was
about $10 to take the class.
For those of you who cannot get out of the house, Wii is coming out
with a Zumba game at Christmas. I am preordering my copy now!

Will I ever fit in the dress that got me pregnant in the first place again
Hi all I am Amanda and 10 weeks ago God put a stop to my daily intake
of DQ Blizzards and wa la my son Gavin was born! Looking at my body
those couple days after he entered the world were terrifying, so many
terrifying thoughts about the condition of my body.
Thanks to the power of breast feeding my son seemed to suck the life
out of me and I lost about 25 pounds in the first month of his life.
But now 10 weeks into to parenthood I find I fit in my clothes, but I
am squishy. I find I still eat the DQ Blizzards, but instead of it
satisfing my cravings, it is just making me more squishy. So it is my
goal 1. to fun the NYC half marathon, 2. have good arms in a tank top
and 3. unsquish my stomach. I hope to do all this in 6 months and keep
it off long enough for me to slip back into the little dress and get
knocked up again... what a vicious cycle.
My current work out plan:
50 push ups a night
50 crunches a night
Random running
Running to the kitchen to heat up a bottle when the little one freaks
My work out schedule this week:
Zumba class! - this will be a first for me
running 10 miles total
50 push ups a night
50 crunches a night
Stay tuned!

I think I might throw out my J Lo jeans...
That's right, I'll admit it, I have a number of jeans made by JLO; and yes I mean Jennifer Lopez, a woman who truly knows about larger then average back sides. Which would be great for my current state except that they don't fit me at all. Well I stand corrected, they will fit me if I suck in and use an elastic band to attach the zipper. This week I have become a victim to my one rule; don't smash yourself into something that doesn't fit. Unfortunately my thrifty side has taken over my want to loose weight side. I should go out to buy new clothes to fit into, but do I really need to spend the money when hopefully I won't fit into them next month. I just can't justify the money being spent. So this week, on several occasions I intentionally had mom butt, just so I could wear jeans. In my defense I did have a long sweater on in hopes of concealing it a little. Even my husband admitted that I had a mild case of mom butt, but that it was good to see me in jeans. So I've made a new goal this month to try to run at least 2 miles everyday this month. Well maybe just during the week. But I'm really going to try to stick to this. I'm still doing the push-ups every morning and trying to get the yoga in at least 4 times a week. Tonight I will post what my workout will be tomorrow so we can all keep up with the weight lifting.
I've also tried to watch what I've been eating so that I can add to the weight loss. Start with simple changes, stop drinking soda, or sugar packed juices. Drink water. I've been trying not to snack during the day, and if I do I've been trying to only eat healthy snacks. I've stopped picking off my kids plates. This is really hard, but I know it will be better in the long run. Good bye cold mac and cheese and chicken nuggets. Lastly, I have stopped eating dessert late at night. Eventually I will cut it out all together. But I need to take things one step at a time. I would really like to loose at least 10lbs in the next 2 weeks to fit into that dress hanging in my closet.
Okay. Have a wonderful day and get motivated to loose weight and get healthy. You can be skinny and still not be very healthy. Everyone should have some form of exercise in there lives.
