Alright it has been about 10 days since my last blog. It has been so busy around here, we've had one birthday three soccer games, two midterms and one baby shower. I know what you are thinking, but it wasn't for me. Not yet at least. Kidding. Any way, I definitely have fallen out of my workout routine. I only lifted and worked out once last week with doing yoga about the same. I feel like I really have to kick up my routine in order to make weight for the ball. I had a long rant to go on about, but as we speak I am getting very tired. So for tomorrow, wake up and do your 30 mins of yoga, then proceed to do your 5 sets of 10 push ups while you get ready in the am. Then, when you have time during the day do a warm up of 30 mins. Running is a good one. Here goes the main routine.
15 thrusters (front squat into a shoulder press with broom stick or weighted bar)
10 supported dips
20 bicycle crunches
10 dead lifts
10 (each side Slashers- technical name to Google)
Do this as many times as you can in 20mins. Be safe, but push yourself. Finish off with 20 crunches and 3 sets of six inches. This is where you lay on the ground and put your legs 6 inches off the ground, then a 45 degree angle and then a 90 degree angle. Do this three times and try to keep your legs straight. Have a great work out. More tomorrow.

I won't miss the back fat I promise
Sorry for the delay in posts. I've been busy and tired. A deadly combo that makes you forget everything. But I'm committed to start posting every night with the next days workout just in case anybody is really following this and is counting on my posts to get back into shape. I think that it also helps motivate me. In any case I did 30 mins of yoga on Wednesday as well as all my push-ups, but yesterday I just ran out of time to do anything. This will happen, especially when you have kids going in all different directions and a pretty busy schedule. Before I get to tomorrows workout I'm going to give a few suggestions that I thought of today while I was shopping in the grocery store. Which of course nobody as to really follow, but I'd feel better sharing anyway.
I can't help but stare at peoples carts while I'm waiting in line. So I look at the lady in front of me who is also pushing a newborn in her cart and I notice that she has more soda in her cart then I have ever consumed in my entire life. Then I also noticed all the crap that she was buying, mostly processed junk. I'm not a preachy type person, but after you've just had a baby drinking and eating that crap isn't helping anybody. Stop drinking soda as your beverage of choice and start eating things that will help you loose weight, but also help you to get the most out of your workouts.
Okay, so here goes. Warm up with a 20min run and then some stretching. I will probably start the day with 30 mins of yoga, just to get all the muscles feeling good again. Then we are going to do the following:
Next we are going to try to do at least three pull-ups, if you have just started working out and getting back into shape these are going to be pretty hard, but eventually you will work up to doing a good number of them.
These next 5 exercises you are to do as fast as you can (still being safe and keeping form) 5 times.
10 Dips (put the bench that you laid on for the bench press at your back, rest your elbows on it and dip down)
10 Armstrongs with 10lb weights in each hand. (use u tube to see the proper technique)
10 kettle bell swings 25lbs
Do a cool down of your liking, making sure you hydrate as you stretch.
This workout will work your back and arms. As well as other various parts of the body. Make sure you keep your heart rate up to get the best cardio workout.
I had so much more to write but as I sit here pretty tired from the day I can't think of a thing, except I really want to loose this weight and fit into my evening gown next month. I won't miss the back fat I promise. Just go away. Till tomorrow....

1 day down......
Today was a partial success. I got up early did 30mins of yoga as well as my my 5 sets of 10 push-ups. Then I brought my kids to school and to PT. Then I picked them up and did a little work before I went to school myself. So unfortunately i didn't get in my main workout today. I'm almost done with my second round of 5 sets of 10 push-ups. I do plan on doing today's full workout tomorrow. So for all of you followers who were successful today, do everything I did today, tomorrow. So do today's work out minus the main workout tomorrow. Good job. Today this was a good example of how everything doesn't always work out the way you want. But you still have to do something and not use excuses to sit on your ass. Quick tip of the day: drink plenty of water throughout your day. This will help you stay hydrated as well as curb your hunger. Have a good one.

1st official workout.....and a little rant
Today was Columbus day and I kind of took the day off. The kids had school and the hubby was home, so I got a lot of homework and work done. Then, when the kids took their naps I made a huge mistake. This gets me to my rant. I went to the community center in our neighborhood to workout after I ran for about 9 mins. I felt pretty good while I was running then I entered the room that would prove to be the worst decision thus far in my postnatal state. It had mirrors on every wall, which clearly showed every little dimple on my very large back side. I began working my little heart out, trying not to look up. I was pretty successful until I decided to workout on the elliptical, which was positioned perfectly so that I could look at myself from the side. Which was definitely worse then looking at myself straight on in the mirror. I'll be honest that it doesn't bother me too much, I mean I have given birth to 4 kids, so it really isn't that bad considerably speaking. But it could be better. Well this is what I was telling myself as I was sweating away the calories on the machine. Then my time was up and I hopped off and noticed that not only were my nipples hard but they were leaking with milk. Not dripping, but I had great wet rings around them on my shirt, which was white. Clearly a bad choice for working out. Leaking hard nipples, agh the joys of motherhood. Does the awesomeness ever end. Don't get me wrong; I love my kids and I would look this way forever if it meant they were all healthy. So I just really want to do this for myself. In any case it made me think that I should work a little harder. So tomorrow will be my first day of serious training. I'm going to post my workout here tonight so that you can follow along it you'd like to.
I'm going to get up early and do yoga for 30mins everyday before the kids get up. This will not only help me build strength, but will also help me stretch out for the day as well as help me relax before the chaos begins.
Next I'm going to start a daily morning routine of 5 sets of 10 push-ups in between brushing my teeth and two other morning rituals.
Then I will repeat this during the mid afternoon while I do other chores. The idea is to mix it up while I do something else. Like every time you go to the bathroom. (this is going to be pretty hard for the first couples of weeks, but you will really start seeing yourself improve within the month...says my hubby)
Warm up to main workout. I'm going to run for at least 20mins. When you first begin running, especially if you haven't done it before, is going to be hard. Set small goals, run for 2 mins then walk for 2. Or run the distance between telephone polls. Start off slow and eventually you will be ready to start the marathon training in December.
Once the warm up is complete the main workout begins. The links that I wanted to attach for you to watch to help you understand how to do the exercises isn't working so just go to u tube and search for them.
Once these are done you should do a cool down of your liking. Stretching, walking, yoga. Whatever works for you. This will complete our first day of training.
Have fun and remember its the little victories first that keep you going. It's a gradual process, but we will get there, leaky boobs and all. :)

15 reps by 65lbs of deadlifts
10 bicycle crunches
15 wallball shots
If you don't have a medicine ball, you can always replace this exercise with air squats. Which are exactly what they sound like.Once these are done you should do a cool down of your liking. Stretching, walking, yoga. Whatever works for you. This will complete our first day of training.

Gone Hiking
Today I was actually motivated to work out. When I woke up this am I felt good, or at least in less pain then when I woke up yesterday. My hubby woke up early and got the kids moving and I got to sleep in for a few extra minutes. It was glorious. We took our little angels for a hike in a great park with great trails today. We took about a hour hike and it felt good. When I got home and went for a 20min run, which hurt less then yesterday.
I think that I want what every new mom wants. To loose the baby weight and to fit into all your old clothes again. Well I'm here to tell you that based off of my experience it won't happen the way that you want. Your body changes, your hips widen, your boobs start to sag, nothing is really the same. With every kid the weight takes a little longer to come off. I always love the celebs that loose all their weight in 6 weeks. If I was rich and could hire my own personal trainer and work out for hrs a day, uninterrupted I'd loose all the weight in 6 weeks too. But I'm a real person living in the real world where I have to work and have more to do then ever with 4 kids.
In any case I just want to loose weight and be as sexy as I used to be.That's all any of us want... right. Forget about the saggy boobs or stretch marks, I just want to fit into something other then maternity clothes. So, that's where my motivation comes from. I just passed up a candy bar from the freezer offered by my hubby, that's how much I want to fit into my dress and run this marathon. You have to do what works for you and fits into your life. Then it WILL work for you.
Until tomorrow and our next workout. Hopefully, we will have another contributor soon with her thoughts and experiences.

I left my lung about a mile back
I'm writing this at about 10:15pm, after a long day of busy schedules and hectic appointments. I did, however manage to get in a workout with my hubby, while my kids ran around and played under our feet. It was long and hard and I haven't sweat that much in awhile. First I ran about 15mins, which sucked. But I felt really good after I finished. Then we went into the garage to lift some weights and more. I am really tired but it feels really good. I realized today that I am really weak (weight wise), and I have a long way to go before I can even come close to my goal. I'd much rather have sat on the couch or have taken a nap when my kids did but I really want to loose weight. I remember when I was younger, that working out used to be a nice quiet, relaxing time, now not so much. I'd like to get back to that. Today's workout was really hard and hopefully they will get easier as I get back into shape. I did the following:
Warm up ran for 20 mins
Lifted Weights 20mins
Alternated between weighted swings and pushups
It seems a little harder these days to loose weight and working out seems to take more out of me. Keeping up with the kids all day and doing other things like going to school don't really help.
Now sitting here sipping my red wine, I'm feeling pretty good about all the pain I felt today. So I'm going to bed and I will do more tomorrow. You have to start somewhere, even if it hurts. I'm sure that most days I will run with the kids in the stroller, but that's what I'm gonna do to get back in shape and feel good about myself. Till then...

Mom Butt
The definition according to Urban Dictionary:
"This phenomenon has been around since at least the 80's. It is defined as the elongation or widness of a mother's butt when she wears jeans/pants that are too tight, too short, or too high in the waist. One does not have to be a mom to acquire mom's butt. One does also not need to be fat to acquire mom's butt. However, there is a vast cohort of Mom's Butt sporters at youth soccer games. A true mom's butt shows a panty-line that usually is uneven due to a "wedgie". Pockets are usually too small and too high on the pants, thus, creating the mom's butt shape."

First timer
This is the first time, I not only posted to a blog, but have even been introduced to the blogging community. I find the idea of putting my thoughts out into the world pretty interesting. The purpose of this blog is to connect with other mothers in the similar situation that I find myself in.
I am a 31year old mother of 4. My kids range in ages from 6 to 6 weeks, 3 boys and 1 little girl. I find myself out of shape with not enough time to do anything about it...or so I thought, until my loving husband introduced me to a workout that seems to fit my schedule. Of course I want to loose weight and get back to feeling good, but most importantly I'd like to avoid the dreaded mom butt. I'm too young and too active for this to happen to me, so I'm going to chronicle my journey back to my pre-baby body with three goals in sight. First, in less then a month I have to put on a ball gown and accompany my husband to a formal ball. Sounds like fun, unless you just had a baby and can't fit into anything because your back fat is poking out or your gut still makes you look pregnant. Fun times. Next, I'd like to get back into shape to start training for a marathon that I've had my eye on for a few years. Then my final phase is to actually train for the marathon and successfully complete it. The greater goal here is to actually juggle all of the responsibilities that I have going on as well as be able to work out.
I'm not sure if anyone will really read this, but if you do, please excuse my grammar and any other mistakes that I might make. I'm just hoping to write and not worry about offending anyone by my thoughts or spelling mistakes.
I'd also like to pull some other moms into this project and have them post as well. I think it might be fun and add more to the content to get others thoughts on what they are going through too.
So here we go.
